In Visa Engine this optional criterion covers the two innovation criteria in the rules (GOV.UK): a record of innovation as a founder or senior executive of a product-led digital technology company (founder only for Exceptional Promise), or as an employee working in a new digital technology field or concept. Founders and senior executives from the last 5 years also need proof of the business, such as sales by country or audited accounts.
Like every optional criterion, it needs at least 2 evidence documents, and none of them can count for another criterion. Research published or endorsed by an expert is a separate optional criterion.
Two things must be clear from your evidence: your specific role (versus the team's output) and why the contribution matters to the wider field — depth, originality, and external impact, not only internal feature delivery.

Have expert letters describe the technical novelty in plain language and compare it to prior art or common practice.
Redact sensitive commercial data but leave enough context for assessors to understand scale and impact — "improved p99 latency by 40% for a system serving N requests/day" beats "optimised performance."
Pair every internal claim with at least one external signal: a talk, a blog post others cite, an open-source artefact, a patent.
