This optional criterion covers significant technical, commercial, or entrepreneurial contributions to the field — typically as a founder, senior executive, board member, or employee of a product-led digital technology company. It rewards impact that extends beyond one employer's private benefit: work that changed how others build, teach, regulate, or adopt technology.

Impact should be traceable and, where possible, measurable or attested by independent experts.

What Assessors Look For

• Field-level effect — widely used libraries, reference designs, influential products, standards contributions
• Commercial significance — revenue growth, funding rounds, market creation attributable to your work
• Independent corroboration — third-party write-ups, case studies, adoption by organisations you don't control
• Your causal role — evidence connecting the outcome to your specific decisions and work
