The national (D) visa application completed online — on the Consular Services Portal where the mission uses it, otherwise the mission's national visa form — with the fee paid at the appointment.
A person from a country that needs a visa for Germany applies for a national (D) visa for study at the German embassy or consulate for their place of residence, before travelling. Applicants complete the national visa application, often on the Consular Services Portal (digital.diplo.de), upload their documents, and attend an appointment for fingerprints and the fee.
The visa fee for a national visa is EUR 75 (EUR 37.50 for minors). Processing can take several months, so apply early. The details in the application should agree with the passport, the admission letter and the other documents.
