The receipt that proves a required visa fee has been paid
Last updated Oct 28, 2026
Educational only — not legal advice.
A fee receipt is the proof that a fee a visa route requires has been paid. For a US F-1 student visa, the SEVIS I-901 fee receipt is printed from fmjfee.com and shows your SEVIS ID, name, date of birth and the amount paid. A visa application fee receipt shows the fee paid for the visa itself where it is paid before the interview.
Common mistake
Going to the interview without proof that the SEVIS I-901 fee is paid. A visa is refused without it.
