In Express Entry, the employer reference letter is how officers verify that your CRS work-experience points are real and skilled. Community reports and practitioner write-ups consistently flag weak letters — missing hours, salary, or duties — as a leading cause of post-ITA document requests and refusals.
This is not a US-style recommendation letter about extraordinary ability. It is an employment verification letter with mandatory facts.
A compliant letter should include:
