…with a national reputation in the same field as you. The nominator completes the prescribed process (commonly Form 1000) and attests to your achievements and suitability. Policy settings have also emphasised government agency nominators for certain priority pathways — check current Home Affairs instructions.
The nominator does not need to employ you or pay you. Their role is to credibly vouch for your record.
