Why This Document Matters

The nomination is a requirement, not a courtesy letter: a completed Nomination for National Innovation visa (Form 1000), signed by your nominator, must be attached when you apply. In it, someone with a national reputation in the same area attests to your internationally recognised record of achievement. A weak nominator can undermine an otherwise strong portfolio.

What to Prepare

1. Completed and signed Form 1000, with every relevant question answered as the form instructs
2. Evidence of an individual nominator's citizenship, permanent residence or eligible New Zealand citizen status — or, for an organisation, proof that the person who signed is authorised to represent it
3. Evidence of the nominator's national reputation in the same area
4. A detailed statement covering your achievements, prominence, and benefit to Australia
5. Proof of how the nominator knows your work
