Prior visas and compliant travel as credibility support

Evidence of prior international travel and compliance with prior Schengen or other visas, which can support credibility of temporary intent and may lead to longer-validity multiple-entry visas (helpful but not always required).
Prior visas and timely departures from the Schengen area, or from other high-scrutiny destinations (US, UK, Canada, Australia), can support the credibility of your application. First-time travelers can still qualify with strong ties, funds, and a clear purpose, but lack of history may invite closer scrutiny.
A clean travel record also matters for the visa cascade regime: applicants with a positive history of lawfully used prior Schengen visas may be issued progressively longer multiple-entry visas (up to five years) on renewal.
