University Admission Letter (Zulassungsbescheid)

What it shows

The Zulassungsbescheid is the letter of admission from a state or state-recognised German higher education institution for a full-time course. It names you, the university, the course, the degree and the semester start. It can be a conditional admission tied to a preparatory language course or a Studienkolleg.

Strong vs. weak

How to prepare it

• Check the course, degree, semester start and any condition when the letter arrives
• If admission is conditional, add the language course or Studienkolleg acceptance
• If the semester has begun, ask the university for a confirmation of enrolment or a late-arrival letter
• Keep the university and course identical across every document
