Travel document requirements for a subclass 600 application
A passport valid for the entire intended period of stay in Australia. Home Affairs recommends the passport remain valid well beyond the requested visa validity period, and the biodata page must be legible for online lodgement.
Officers need a legible biodata page showing your full name, nationality, passport number, and issue/expiry dates. Unlike some jurisdictions, Australia does not apply a fixed "six months beyond stay" rule to every nationality, but Home Affairs recommends validity that comfortably covers the requested visa validity period, not just the trip itself. Names on the passport, ImmiAccount application, and supporting letters should match. Prior Australian visas (in the current or a previous passport) are useful travel-history context.
Damaged passports, mismatched spellings, or unclear scans create processing delays and requests for more information.
