Immigration History

Official Definition

Earlier visas for Australia and other countries, used and left on time, and any refusals: part of the genuine student assessment.

What Officers Look For

Your immigration history is one of the four subjects of the genuine student questions, including earlier visa refusals or cancellations. The officer weighs it with your circumstances and your reasons for the course.

Earlier Australian, UK, US, Canadian or Schengen visas that you used and left on time support the application. A refusal or an overstay should be explained, for example with a letter. Having no earlier travel is not a failure on its own.
