What it shows

A travel itinerary sets out when you arrive and leave, where you will be each day, and what you will do. It lets the officer check that your purpose, dates, bookings and budget fit together.

Strong vs. weak

Strong

Entry and exit dates with flight or transport reservations
A plan for each stop that matches the accommodation bookings
A length and cost that fit your leave and your funds

Weak

A vague plan such as tourism for a month
Dates that differ between the form, the bookings and the letter from your employer
A trip your stated income could not pay for

How to prepare it

Write one page: date, city, where you stay, what you do
Attach reservations; many authorities advise against buying non-refundable tickets before a decision
For business trips, add the meeting schedule or event registration

Common mistake

An itinerary that does not match the other documents. Small date conflicts raise larger doubts.
