The electronic confirmation your Australian provider issues for a CRICOS-registered course
Last updated Oct 28, 2026
Educational only — not legal advice.
A Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) is issued by the Australian education provider once you have accepted an offer and paid the deposit it asks for. It names the provider, the CRICOS course code, the course start and end dates and the tuition fees, and its CoE code is entered in the visa application. A student with more than one course gets a CoE for each.
Common mistake
Giving a letter of offer instead of a CoE. A letter of offer is not accepted in its place.
