Press and trade coverage of you and your work
Published material about the alien in professional or major trade publications or other major media, relating to the alien's work in the field for which classification is sought;
— 8 CFR § 204.5(h)(3)(iii)
The material must be about the beneficiary (not merely quote them in passing) and must relate to their work in the field for which EB-1A classification is sought. Eligible venues include professional publications, major trade publications, or other major media. Officers assess whether the outlet has significant circulation or readership, targeted audience, and reputation in the field.
Authored articles by the beneficiary satisfy a different prong—scholarly articles at (h)(3)(vi)—not this one.
Compared to O-1A: 8 CFR § 214.2(o)(3)(iii)(B)(3) is closely aligned. For EB-1A, depth, major status of the publication, and focus on the beneficiary’s contributions matter heavily for both Step 1 and Step 2 (sustained acclaim).
